Trees of Mount Saint Helens
A stand of dead and barren trees that dominate the stark landscape, Mount Saint Helens, Washington USA.
The forest has not yet recovered from the 1980 catastrophic volcanic explosion of Mount Saint Helens. This predominantly black and white photograph has had the colour selectively added and it readily illustrates the devastation still so prominent in this autumn forest scene. The landscape is still littered with the dead and barren trees that were killed decades before.
